nope. both got hit. kid got the front corners while the mum got the center... mother may live though if i judge by the video. she didnt slam in the shield and she got a softer landing and the driver isnt actually going really fast. he/she managed to break at once without skidding so it isn't fast enough to kill.

Play it safe and always assume that everyone around you has their head up their ass. I even go so far to wait and look both ways in my car even after the light turns green. Hope they lived through this.

Looks like that car is illegally parked right on the crosswalk which means the mother should have been more careful walking out blindly. Yes, walkers have right of way but stupid people will pay for their stupidity sooner or later. Just too bad the child was with her.
