And so the police take it upon themselves to illegally jump the fence, illegally enter a private house and then trigger happy shot the living fuck out of him? They could have gotten a search warrant but I suppose that would require extra steps. :  |

You clearly have no idea how the law works. They don't need a warrant when a crime is in progress. In this case, the couple that had been kidnapped escaped from the apartment, came upon an off-duty officer, and that officer alerted fellow on-duty officers to respond to the call.
