Two motorcyclists were killed while another was injured in a car crash near Jalan Thean Teik near Sunshine Farlim, Air Itam. Investigation revealed that a Proton Hero car was driven by a 20-year-old man into the opposite lane after colliding with a motorcycle that hit the main road. “Upon arriving at Thean Teik Road near Thean Teik Road, a 21-year-old man was hit by a motorcycle in an accident, causing the car to crash. “Following the collision, the Proton Hero was disembarked and struck two motorcycles on a 58-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man. “Both motorcyclists were killed in the incident,” he said in a statement here tonight. He said the victims were identified as Z. A, 58, and S. L. N, 41, both from Air Itam while the men who entered the main road were injured in the chest and face. Both victims were taken to Penang Hospital (HPP) and an autopsy will be conducted tomorrow morning to determine the cause of death. He said the Proton Wira driver was arrested while an alcohol test and urine tests carried out negative results. However, according to the review, the man had been charged with traffic accidents for one accident but had no criminal record. Police said the case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987. |
