Four others were injured. Footage circulating online showed a red Mercedes crashing through a railing at a traffic light. The accident involved four cars, a taxi and a motorcycle. Police said they were alerted to the accident at about 11.10pm. The 59-year-old male driver, who was in one of the vehicles hit by the Mercedes, was unconscious and taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Four other men, aged between 22 and 38, were conscious when taken to Changi General Hospital. A 33-year-old male driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death, said the police. Police have clarified that the 33-year-old male driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and not arrested for suspected drink-driving. |

Where in Google did you find a reference to "Squirrel Elements"? That phrase is something that has only been used here on DR for the last 10 years or so, and I never heard it used anywhere else. It used to be that criminal "elements" were blamed for killing people, and then some people got killed by trees, thus making it necessary to blame the "Squirrel Elements". (Some of the posters have come up with pictures of squirrels dressed as gangsters, or riding tiny motorcycles.) Now, "Squirrel Elements" are blamed when anyone gets killed by a falling tree, or falling lumber, or anything where a squirrel could conceivably be involved. |
