Re: Cape Town Shenanigans
I think this would be classified as a "hootenanny", rather than "shenanigans." "Hootenanny's" normally involve fire of some type, while "Shenanigans" usually don't. |

Re: Cape Town Shenanigans
I live about 15km south of where this happened. This literally happened on the side of the highway in an area named Parkwood. As people may know called the notorious Cape Flats. This was a vigilante attack on these guys because they were caught trying to steal children. Definitely the wrong place to do that kind of shit. They killed the guy and burnt the car. Funny how on the news it said the police were trying to determine the motive for the crime. Its pretty clear |

Re: Cape Town Shenanigans
Thank you very much for taking the time to post this info. Why would they steal children? Ransom, sex trafficking, cannibalism or? As a westerner with no experience in Africa I am sure it is something so heinous I don't even have the imagination to guess...

Re: Cape Town Shenanigans
Thanks. I forgot to change Camptown to Cape Town. Interesting info on this song: " "Camptown Races" was written and composed by Stephen Foster in 1850, published in Foster's Plantation Melodies. This song was Foster's second big hit (after "Oh! Susanna") and gained immediate popularity. The original title of the song, "Gwine to Run All Night," referenced the African-American stereotype dialect in which the song was written. The lyrics talk about a group of transients in a camp town who bet on horses to try to make some money." |
