If the officer was more competent in his job that staff member would have saved being hit by a drugged maniac. Why would he repeat on the ground mantra and doesn't just use his damn weapon? Jesus, we need better officers who use weapons when it's clearly needed.

Close quarters and a guy wearing a hoodie means a TASER should not be the go-to, practically speaking although it might be department policy. Sadly that leaves your fists, batons and the like. Cop was nice in his approach, gave better than usual "positive" commands, and went hands on sooner than later. Sucker punch to the face like that, especially with "brass knuckles" is deadly force. Justifiable shooting. Not a good outcome but he chose to escalate the situation several times. |
