Correct. If 4 or more people are shot it's considered a mass shooting. However, here in the U.S. if 4 or more people are shot & it is gang-related then in some states it's not counted as a mass shooting.

I guess it has more to do with the term "Mass shooting", multiple people have been getting shot in a mix of gang activity for decades but the "mass shooting" trend is something newer and more used for shock value and clicks.

I really wish they'd stop calling gang shootings "mass shootings" mass shootings implies innocent people were shot minding their own business by a deranged gunman. Bad elements shooting each other would have been a more appropriate title.
