Murders in Durán, Ecuador continue with four more cases. The latest crimes in the railway canton occurred between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. The murders attributed to gang fights.

With the extreme violence in the country, with the murder rates on the rise, people often joke that the bullet is cheap. And although it is a cruel joke, that phrase could well be applied to what happens in Durán.

The railway canton, from the afternoon of Tuesday, August 29, to the morning of this Saturday, September 2, 2023, registers 14 murders. The four most recent crimes occurred in the El Recreo citadel.

Subjects aboard a car they reached a narrow alley and began to shoot as if the projectiles were given to them.

The residents hid in their houses, but when things calmed down they went out to see, fearing the worst. And they were not wrong. They observed two men shot and wounded in the middle of the alley . A third citizen was a few meters away. The latter was taken to a medical center, but later his death was confirmed. The other two died on the spot.

“Several people got out (of the vehicle) with firearms and fired approximately 44 shots.

A fight between criminal groups began more than a month ago, a dispute that resulted in a series of violent deaths in and around the town of Guayas.

Police sources have confirmed that the gangs would be the Latin Kings and the Chone Killers.
