Have you ever lowered a school bus window back in grade school? It's not a straight forward task and half the time they stick while going down. Couple that with being upside down, drowning in water with zero visibility, and 30 people in a dogpile on top of you, and possibly knocked unconscious or the wind knocked out of you... Also look at the size of the half window you need to escape through...
