In the La Minorista neighbourhood, a homeless man was attempting to cross a bus-only lane when he was struck by a bus, rendering him seriously injured. Furious locals attended the scene, with some threatening the bus driver.

Apparently fearful of physical attack, the bus driver drove off with the homeless man still on the road, dragging his body for several metres. The homeless man was confirmed dead upon arrival at hospital.

The bus driver stopped at the bus station in the Industriales area of the city, around 4km away, where he presented himself to police officers. The case is being analyzed to determine whether the driver's conduct could be classified as homicide.

Didn't we see a guy get pulled from a police pick up truck and lynched, perhaps in Latin America (or was it Africa), in the last year or so? Maybe he figured the guy was dead and it was better to go over the hobo bum than possibly run over paying bus customers behind them...
