Burning alive is one of the worst ways to go(in my opinion).

I don't disagree, but I saw a documentary recently about the mount Everest deaths. It was saying that freezing to death is worse than being burned alive do to the fact that when frost bite starts to occur it produces the same wavelength of pain as burning alive except it takes twice as long for you to actually die. It compared it to being burned alive from the inside out. Most people think that curling up to preserve heat is the best thing to do but what happens is your tissue/muscles will actually start to freeze, locking you in position, as if paralized, except every nerve in your body feels like it's literally on fire, until your core temp drops so low that your heart can no longer circulate blood and stops beating

Freezing to death and frostbite are two different things. They may, of course, occur together (as on Mount Everest), but usually not. Frostbite occurs when bare flesh is exposed to air that is both very cold and moving at a substantial speed (There are various combinations of temperature/wind speed that will produce frostbite in calculable time periods.) It is indeed painful. However, one may freeze to death in an unheated sheltered building or area without enduring frostbite (e.g., in an unheated home). This is said to be a (relatively) mild way to exit once you get past the active shivering stage.
