That's an awfully long jump not to get his head ripped off. Maybe he just tied the rope way up there but hung himself at the bottom level. Sad though, either way.

Perhaps the rope was already there and it was the most convenient way for him to get his "revenge"? In any case, it's sad that he felt he had to do it at work in front of his colleagues.
