This may sound a bit odd, but my girlfriend is from Brazil (Criciuma) and I asked her about these type of murders. She said in Sao Paulo and Rio it happens a lot. She lives pretty far SW from Sao Paulo in a much more rural area, and even then she still sees police pulling bodies out of the nearby forest on just about a weekly or monthly basis. She asked me if I would be willing to move there. I didn't tell her about what I've seen on here, but needless to say, my answer was a quick and firm "No".
