That woman got very close and they only fired one shot. This looks way different from shootings I've seen where I live.

Re: Brazilian Woman, Armed with Knife, Is Shot Dead by Police
We're going to see this way more in big cities all around the world and especially in RJ. The number of people living in the treet has risen to over 96,000, the largest concentration of homeless individuals in all of Latin America. Regarding shelter capacity, there are only about 29,000 beds available in overnight facilities. Consequently, more than 65,000 people are left with no choice but to sleep outdoors on sidewalks, under overpasses or in tents. Scientific research under investigation in São Paulo shows that the psychological distress on the streets is enormous as 50% suffer from severe depressive symptoms and approximately 30% have active suicidal thoughts. More than 60% have severe sleep problems, which are exacerbated by psychotic episodes and confused behavior. also São Paulo is famous for Cracolândia, a district in the center where historically large groups of heavy crack users lived openly on the streets and using drugs. So maybe this was a homeless woman that went nuts or a crackhead. |
