Re: Brazilian Prison Brutality

Christ! First they "sharpen" the blades on the ground then stab the guy. One guy's even bent. Brutal!

Re: Brazilian Prison Brutality

I think the saddest part for me is that brutal violence is so rampant that people are some how desensitized to even their own impending doom. I can’t imagine people not fighting back here in the US. Then again maybe its fear and the thought of being less threatening will somehow save them? Well if DR has taught me anything it’s to go down fighting because you’re probably going to die anyways

But it's not always as clear cut(no pun intended) as that. It may be the case that you simply absorbing a little abuse could avoid taking a lot of abuse from trying to fight back.

I've seen guys take a punch and then let it be, and everyone walks away. I've also seen guys take a punch and fight back only to get punched again and then completely beat down.

In this case, the victim is sitting there watching these guys (attempt to) sharpen their knives on the concrete floor. They also have their hands wrapped in towels in what I presume is some shithole-country form of hand armor.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking... as in, "if I sit here and smile and play nice, maybe they are only going to threaten and intimidate me".

But FFS man, fight back. Grab that guys arm and break it at the elbow as he scrapes the knife on the ground. Gouge his eyes out. Attempt to bite off his cock and balls. Anything other than just sitting there like a corpse-to-be.

I'm just guessing that they know they are going to die. And they know the quickest, least painful way would be to just submit.

They are in prison, surrounded by gang members, no where to go, no one to save them. And no way to fight back and win. I'm guessing they submit, because fighting back and injuring one of the attackers could mean a much more painful, brutal, torturous death.

Maybe he knows, you sit their and take this blade and hope for a quick death. Or we'll cut your nuts off , then your ears, then your toes. Lord knows there's enough of them to hold you down.

Or maybe he thinks he may survive getting stabbed 50 times.

But I hear ya, I can't imagine not fighting back. Fighting so hard they have to kill me quickly.
