A man identified as A.S.d.S. drowned in the Guamá River, on Sunday night (11), during a party in the municipality of São Miguel do Guamá, northeast of Pará.

Reportedly, A. had been drinking before entering the river. At around 10.30pm, witnesses called police, saying they had lost sight of A. The Fire Department was immediately called and began searching for the man. Due to the poor lighting in the area and the dark color of the water, the agents had difficulty searching, and did not find the victim.

At around 11:55 pm, the police were called again by residents who reported the appearance of the body. According to locals, A. was a well-known figure in the city and suffered from mental problems.
