Brazilian Man Shot Dead Whilst Confronting Gunman Who Fired at Power Meter
Aripuanã, Mato Grosso, Brazil The Civil Judicial Police is investigating a homicide recorded on Sunday afternoon (8), which claimed the life of Marcos A.G., 56 years old. At the scene, several spent casings and firearm projectiles were found, both in the external area and inside the residence, in addition to the victim's body, which was already without vital signs. The analysis of the recordings revealed that two suspected individuals approached the property. Both were carrying helmets in their hands. It was later determined that the suspects arrived at the location on a stolen black Honda Titan motorcycle. The images show that one of the suspects walked in front of the house and fired a shot at the electrical power meter, in an attempt to interrupt the power supply and disable the security cameras. Shortly afterward, Marcos left the residence to check on the suspicious situation. He was armed and managed to react, but was hit and fell to the ground. Even after the victim was down, the perpetrator entered the residence and fired additional shots at Marcos. The perpetrator stole Marcos' firearm and then took photos of his corpse, before firing additional shots at the body. After a thorough analysis of the collected material, the Civil Police preliminarily identified the shooter as Lucas Ferreira Barbosa, known as "XT," who is pointed out as a member of a criminal faction. He was located, approached, and taken into custody by police teams. At the time of the approach, Lucas was accompanied by another suspect who was also taken in. |

Re: Brazilian Man Shot Dead Whilst Confronting Gunman Who Fired at Power Meter
FWIW, obviously this might not've gone down quite like this, or at least not so quickly, if the victim had tactical training: to wit, try to use whatever cover is available (such as hugging the wall here as your attacker comes back into view), and try not (have to) fire while on the move unless you're already good at it. Easy to armchair after the fact, of course, but it looks like he came out already knowing something was off/expecting trouble, and then failed to leverage familiar terrain, so...
