The victim was 22 years old and was killed because she allegedly gave away the location of her boyfriend who was killed hours earlier by a rival drug gang.

The Civil Police of Eunápolis has no doubt that the brutal murder of Ana Luiza Lima Brito, 22 years old, is directly linked to the execution of Matheus Rodrigues de Souza, 24, on the night of Monday, 23, in the Gusmão neighborhood, in the municipality, which is in the extreme south of the state.

The young woman's dismembered body was found on the morning of Wednesday the 25th, on a dirt road in the Delta Park neighborhood, near BR-367, about 10 km from where Matheus was killed.

One of her hands was inside a bag with two fingers torn off and in her mouth there was a note, the contents of which were not revealed.

Ana was killed by drug traffickers from the First Command of Eunápolis (PCE), a faction linked to the Red Command (CV), in retaliation for the murder of Matheus.

She had allegedly indicated the location where the young man was to the drug traffickers from Bonde do Maluco (BDM), the faction she was moving to join.

“She was a PCE drug dealer and was switching from one faction to another rival. The video makes it clear that she was involved [in the crime]. They [PCE drug dealers] took her cell phone and saw that she was passing information to the BDM,” Police said.

Matheus' death would be a way for Ana to prove that she was, in fact, determined to change her criminal organization. Police also revealed that Ana and Matheus were not dating and that they had been in a relationship for a week, since he left prison.

The police also said that he has already identified the man who killed Matheus, and that he is also considered to be the person responsible for executing BDM's enemies in Eunápolis.

His name has not been released so as not to jeopardize the investigation. Regarding Ana Luiza's murder, the police also said that the perpetrator is still unknown.
