Brazil - Teenage Girl Found Drowned at the Beach
On 8th May 2022 in Porto Seguro (Brazil), B.S.B.C. disappeared into the sea. The teenager had gone for a swim with her aunt + cousin at the Taipe beach. 'B' went under the water but did not reappear. Her family, lifeguards + fire fighters searched the water for her, but to no avail. As night fell, the search was halted until the next morning. The search came to an end that afternoon. The youngster's body was found washed up on the sand, around 15km from where she was last seen. |

Re: Brazil - Teenage Girl Found Drowned at the Beach
~ Since her body doesn't look eaten up, then she must have either not known how to swim or she got stung by some underwater creature. So I was looking to see if she was foaming at the mouth. ~ She may also have hit a deep spot, pulled down by the current, & drowned. ~ The news report doesn't say anything more than what the description mentions. |

15 km away? That must have been a hell of a rip tide!

Re: Brazil - Teenage Girl Found Drowned at the Beach
According to the narrative she was in the ocean a whole day and dragged 15km by the currents. Yet she looks completely undamaged and with no signs of post mortem deterioration. Even in the absence of predation this is remarkable. One would think that she had drowned just before being discovered.

Re: Brazil - Teenage Girl Found Drowned at the Beach
In scuba class they taught us to never fight the rip tide, but swim 90 degrees to it, (across it or even with it.) until you are out of it and then swim for the beach.
