Brazil - Several Prisoners Killed In Riot
"This morning, there was a riot at the Anápolis Regional Prison Unit during the procedure for releasing prisoners to sunbathe. According to the General Directorate of Penitentiary Administration, the inmates revolted against the order, resulting in a generalized fight in the corridor of the gallery. The criminal police quickly intervened to contain the movement, which ended up being controlled. After containing the beginning of the riot, the criminal police discovered two seriously injured prisoners, victims of the criminal actions of other prisoners. The unit's management immediately called the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu), which upon arrival found that the two inmates had died. The Legal Medical Institute (IML) was triggered to carry out the expertise. The alleged homicides are being investigated by the Civil Police of Anápolis, which also initiated internal administrative procedures to investigate the facts. As a security measure, the UPR leadership temporarily suspended family visits and food delivery in the block where the riot took place, in order to restore discipline and order, as well as identify those involved in the criminal acts. The deceased prisoners were identified as A.F.d.L. and D.S.d.S., both arrested for homicide, pursuant to Article 121 of the Penal Code. The situation underscores the need to review and reinforce security and control measures within the penitentiary system, with the aim of preventing episodes like this and guaranteeing the integrity of detainees. The case will continue to be closely monitored by the competent authorities."

Re: Brazil - Several Prisoners Killed In Riot
I'm glad we have that option of prison riot vids on DR but I've been squeamish about opening any ever since that video of the inmate playing punchball with his cellmate's severed head and going, "Woot woot! This is what it's all about, bros!" *punches head to off-camera*

Sunbathing is so dangerous. There's concerns about sunburn, skin cancer, and apparently shanking.
