M.N.R., aged 52, died and had part of his body burned after an accident with a paraplane (similar to a paraglider) in Aparecida de Goiânia, in the Metropolitan Region of the capital.

The incident happened this Tuesday (21), around 6 pm local time on Avenida das Amendoeiras in Setor Jardim Mont Serrat. The local fire department was called around 6:15, but on arrival the man had already succumbed to his injuries.

Instructor and professional pilot Itiel Lima, a friend of 'M', who was also at the scene of the accident, says that the suspicion is that kite lines with wax have caused the paraplane to fall.

“Unfortunately, a kite with a wax line cut all the lines on the paraplane. With that, he fell vertically, the fuel tank burst and, as the engine was hot, he had his body partially charred”, he said.
