I'll just add my two cents and say that referring to a person by their preferred pronoun is more a matter of good manners than anything else. Just like all of us would like to be addressed by our names or nicknames, some men would simply prefer to be called "she", etc.

Of course, there are always gonna be people who prefer not to observe social customs, or who refuse to accept that social customs change with time, just like the cranky old white grandpa who refuses to do any business with colored folk and doesn't even have an email account. That's fine too. Slong as you're not inciting violence against the trans community you can do whatever you want.

Whether it's a mental illness or not I won't argue, but I will say that except for the occasional cross-dressing mass shooter, crimes by transsexuals are very few and far between. Quite the contrary actually, trannies are usually on the receiving end of a lot of hate, violence, and misunderstanding.....and for what? No transgender person thinks they're LITERALLY the opposite sex. That's a bad faith argument by all accounts. They wants to be referred as such because they have gender dysphoria, which is an actual medical condition.
