An accident involving a Peugeot 206 left one person dead in the Midwest of Santa Catarina early this Saturday afternoon (22). The vehicle violently collided with the side of a trailer, on the SC-350 in Caçador.

The 50-year-old driver was thrown out of the vehicle and died at the scene.

The car broke in half and parts of the vehicle were scattered around the accident site for about 200 meters, according to the Fire Department, which was called to respond to the incident at around 2:10 pm.

The driver of the cart, which was heading towards Lebon Régis, was not injured.

The highway was closed to gather information for expertise, removal of the body and cleaning of the lane. The victim was identified as S.d.S.M., being the only occupant of the vehicle.
