Well, by the looks of it, it actually is just a flesh wound. You can see his knee cap, but it is intact. There obviously damage to cartilage, but no arteries were hit, and it doesn't look broken either. He will probably be fine after a few surgeries.
are you sure? for me it looks like they have to amputate it.
