But like the cameraman gag reflex showed, you never get used to the smell. Rotting carcasses can produce so much gas that it can even be poisonous. And it smells like a rotten egg fart, only ten times stronger. Used to work in a farm and sometimes butchered animals might have had nasty surprises inside after a day in a cooler.

Even if you have never smelled a decomposing human, you still instantly know what it is when you smell it for the first time. Although, I had one in an apartment that I smelled the second I got out of the car. While investigating, went to the downstairs neighbor to ask her some questions. I walked in and saw she had about 20 candles burning and cars of Lysol everywhere. The juices were coming down from the ceiling into her apartment. She thought there was a problem with the toilet in her apartment. Don't know how she missed her neighbor visiting down the walls. |
