Their choice is to either work an honest job for 300-500$ usd a month, or sell drugs and get a 1000-2000$ a week. Don't forget too that human are much more evil then we think in living in a civilized country. When shit is everywhere around you, being a tyranical asshole with guns is a way to get more for yourself as other starves. The cartel culture also came from already very violent drug leader as Pablo Escobar. These guy are kind of seen like king in the street of the downtroden, money, luxury, freedom to do anything including killing. Any of this isn't smart, it's turning their country into a hellish shithole that over time will become unlivable even for the cartel leader. But intelligence is not part of the trait that get selected here, that would be mostly sociopathic tendencies and greed, worst mix ever. |
