Burning someone alive and smashing rocks into someone’s head are worse crimes, but I have zero sympathy for those who are put into that situation by their violation of others. Unless someone is stealing to survive (food to keep from starving to death), then they are lowdown scum. And if they live in an uncivilized nation, they should be expecting for something like this to eventually happen.

I don’t understand why people say this is too harsh for “just a thief”. The reality in these countries are when a thief is successful, thier victims can have a very real possibility of starving to death. If thieves are treated with a slap on the wrist, more people will steal and more people, innocent people could die as a result of leniency toward thievery. The sad part is if these people would actually work together their condition could improve.
