Re: Bondi, Sydney - Mass Shooting

No, he's an absolut fucking moron.

He let the shooter get away, back to the bridge, to continue the rampage. By letting him leave the shooters possibly killed more people.

I would have shot him in the head.
Sure you would. Let’s not forget this man was just a regular guy (and a Muslim) and in the general mayhem of the moment could easily have been shot himself mistaken for one of the shooters. This isn’t an action movie

Re: Bondi, Sydney - Mass Shooting

Ahmed Al-Ahmed’s parents, Syrian immigrants, spoke with local reporters about their son’s actions regarding his disarming of one of the shooters. They confirmed that the shotgun had ran out of ammunition, which is why he did not fire the weapon at the shooter.

Sayings of Muhammad (pdf)
Posting isolated religious text without context is misleading.

What’s being shown here is a single hadith, not a verse from the Quran. Hadith literature is vast, internally debated, and interpreted differently across Islamic schools. Even narrations considered "authentic" are not automatically treated as universal commands, doctrine, or instructions for everyday behavior.

This particular hadith is widely understood by scholars as eschatological, meaning it refers to end-times prophecy rather than prescribing how Muslims are meant to live or act. It is not applied as law, and it is not treated as a standing call to violence in mainstream Islamic belief.

Cherry-picking extreme or apocalyptic religious passages while ignoring how they are interpreted and practiced is not a serious way to assess a faith. By that same logic, Christianity or Judaism could be defined entirely by their most violent scriptural passages, which would obviously be dishonest.

Re: Bondi, Sydney - Mass Shooting

Could somebody inform me whether Israel authorities thanked Ahmed Al-Ahmed and/or offered any support to him and his family? I deeply doubt it.

Your statements are not correct for several reasons.

First, acts of violence in the Bible are presented in a descriptive manner, not as instructions. This is comparable to listening to a true crime podcast that describes how someone was killed and then claiming that it is calling for violence.

Second, many people make the mistake of comparing the books to one another. However, the Qur’an cannot be compared to the Bible at all, because Christians do not regard the Bible itself as sacred, but merely as a piece of paper, and they do not claim that it is free of error. For this reason, it is also not a major issue for Christians if the Bible is burned, because it is simply a book written by humans.

The Qur’an, by contrast, has a transcendent character, since Muslims assume that God’s word has passed from the immaterial realm into the physical world through this book.

Therefore, the Bible cannot be compared to the Qur’an, but rather the Qur’an should be compared to Jesus Christ, because Jesus reflects precisely this idea, namely that God came to earth in the form of Jesus.

One should therefore not fall for this narrative of comparing the two books in this way.

Re: Bondi, Sydney - Mass Shooting

https://www.gofundme.com/f/zbcjn-sup...bondi-attacker

After Jewish billionaire William Ackman (aka Bill Ackman) donated $99,999 to the GoFundMe for the Bondi shooting hero who disarmed one of the attackers, public interest in the hedge fund manager surged sharply.

Ackman’s contribution to the Ahmed Al Ahmed GoFundMe, set up to support the Sydney fruit shop owner who tackled the gunman, has driven searches around Bill Ackman, GoFundMe Bondi hero, support for the hero who disarmed the Bondi attacker, and even broader debates on gun laws in Australia.

Bill Ackman is an American Jewish billionaire investor and hedge fund manager who has emerged as a prominent public figure in recent years for his outspoken support of Israel and advocacy against antisemitism.

Ackman is the founder and CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, a hedge fund he established in 2004. According to the firm, Pershing Square manages approximately $20 billion in assets and maintains a concentrated equity portfolio of about 10 companies, including Chipotle, Uber, and Amazon.

He first rose to prominence through high-profile investments, including his short position against bond insurer MBIA and his role in the rescue of mall operator General Growth Properties.

Ackman is also known for his strong public presence on social media. As of December 2025, he has more than 2 million followers on X. In 2024, he endorsed Donald Trump after decades of supporting Democratic candidates.

According to The Jerusalem Post, Ackman ranked third on the 2024 “Most Influential Jews” list. In an interview with the outlet, he said the October 7 attack was “a wake-up call on the importance of Israel and the omnipresence of antisemitism.”

According to Forbes, Bill Ackman’s real-time net worth stood at $9.5 billion as of December 14, 2025, ranking him No. 345 among the world’s richest people. Ackman’s wealth is primarily derived from his stake in Pershing Square Capital Management and the firm’s long-term investment strategy.

Bill Ackman is married to Neri Oxman, an Israeli-born architect, computational designer and artist. According to The New York Times, Oxman won the Cooper Hewitt Design Award for Interaction Design in 2018.
