Yes i agree a taser might have worked but there is always the chance he would miss or the prongs would not make contact with skin. It is obviously not a good idea to use the melee taser on an armed suspect.
The cop did pull his car too close to someone who was armed.
I counted 5 shots- 2 put him down and when he was still moving on the ground he unloaded 2 or 3 more from the looks of the bus video. Too many gunshots for the situation.
The cop chose to make it a death by cop scenario. 2 shots and the guy was disabled on the ground then he might have been saved by EMS and got the physical and mental health he needed.
