Bodies of Two Men Found Tortured and Murdered in Manuas, Brazil

The body of a thin, light-colored man, approximately 30 years old, was found around 2 pm this Monday, 21, on Avenida Flamboyant, in the Industrial District 2 neighborhood, East Zone of Manaus.

The man was wearing a striped shirt, denim shorts, hands were tied and, according to the forensic expert, there were marks of physical aggression on various parts of his body, confirming that he was tortured before being murdered.

A group of residents walking to a bus stop found the body lying in a small thicket on the side of the road. After the scare, residents managed to notify the Military Police through the Emergency number 190.

Soon after, the 4th Cicom garrison communicated the Specialized Homicide and Kidnapping Police Station (DEHS), which went to Avenida Flamboyant. The teams of Expertise and the Legal Medical Institute (IML) were also triggered.

No personal document was found that would help the police to identify the victim at the place of “disposal”. Three .380 caliber pistol shells were found near the body of the man tortured and executed by the assassins.

In the second incident the body of a man was found early this Saturday, 24th, in a wooded area at the end of Rua do Igarapé, Mutirão neighborhood, Cacau Pirêra District, Iranduba municipality, Manaus Metropolitan Region.

The corpse bore marks of torture and, according to civil and military police and the criminal expert, three shots were fired from a 380-caliber pistol at the head of the unknown man.

Street residents heard the shots at around 3:30 am and after a car left the scene at high speed, they left their homes and soon found the dead man behind an abandoned house at the entrance to the forested area.

The man aged approximately 25 years, black hair, sun-shaped tattoo on the right side of the neck, and wearing a black and yellow shirt, blue shorts, was barefoot.

The place is frequented by drug users and dealers and according to one of the residents who did not want to be identified, at the end of last week there was a shooting between criminals in that same place.

The police's preliminary suspicion is that the victim was involved with drug trafficking and possibly with factions that operate mainly in the invasion areas.

The body was removed from the site by the Legal Medical Institute (IML) team and until early this Saturday morning, the family members had not attended the body's headquarters in the Cidade Nova neighborhood, in Manaus, to make the identification.
