The hydrostatic shock inside the skull causes expansion and fractures that distort/modify the shape of the skull/face which makes the "facial expression" change as a result.

I’d still say .45. A full sized steel 1911 doesn’t recoil bad at all, to me it doesn’t make much sense running 38 super in a frame that large. A gold plated 1911 in anything other than 45 or 10 mil doesn’t seem to do it gun justice in my book. |

I'd have been nice if he just left the one shot and filmed. Everyone always has to go for that extra bit of overkill.
