There were “protesters” trying to shut down the highways in the state I live after the Ferguson riots. Several people were killed by cars and shortly after my state announced that drivers would not be charged with any crime if they hit someone deliberately in the roadways purposely impeding vehicles on roadway and not in designated pedestrian crosswalks. Since then, I have not seen a single instance of protests on the highway locally. Just one instance of “suicide on highway”.

I will try to clarify. You see the leftist (liberal) types as being progressive. They view themselves as that. Those who oppose that viewpoint don't see actual progression, but regression.

In particular, a regression in the freedom of thought and free expression. Even leftist types going so far as to control language as evidenced by socially enforced gender labels. Any one who differs from their viewpoints is attacked, labelled as an -ist or a -phobe, and/or cancelled. Not very pleasant if you're on the receiving end of it, I must say.

If you consider that progression, then so be it.
In my case, any restrictions on one group at the expense of another is not progression.

By inference of your statement we could conclude, "A minority of great thinkers of history were regressives".

Examples, Karl Marx = great thinker, good intentions, poor execution, people are inherently corrupt therefore society regressed. Mao Tse Tung = great thinker but regressed progress. Fidel Castro = charismatic great thinker = Cuba is a backward watering-hole....

The current leftists = great thinkers (at least they think they are), anarchy and chaos, fascists who call themselves anti-fascists, racists who call themselves anti-racists, the progressively regressives, left is right and right is left, you will know them by their fruits.....

You apparently haven't seen what people do to get around blockages on a freeway. They make new on and off ramps in the grass, go the wrong way, etc.
