Blida Algeria Suicide Bombing April 13, 2026: Bomber Aftermath Photos
Blida, Algeria Early this afternoon, two suicide bombers attempted to carry out attacks in downtown Blida, 50km south of Algiers. According to eyewitness accounts, two individuals wearing explosive belts tried to attack, one a police station, the other a private sports complex on one of the city's main thoroughfares. “Police officers shot at the two suicide bombers before they could approach their targets. They then detonated their explosives,” a local source in Blida reported. Images circulating on social media show the mutilated body of one of the attackers. No official casualty figures have been released yet, but unconfirmed reports suggest a few people were injured. This double attempted attack comes on the first day of Pope Leo XIV's historic visit to Algiers, but it is not yet known if the attack is linked. The last confirmed suicide bombing in Algeria dates back to August 2017 in Tiaret. A suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt targeted the headquarters of the Wilaya Security Directorate. A police officer threw himself on him to prevent him from entering, dying in the explosion. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack. |

Huh.... Almost looks like it was accidental, like a twitchy finger on whatever set-off device he had. Didn't go into it with the proper mindset: should have at LEAST walked up to one or two of those guys about to approach/challenge/stop him, before blowing his load.
