A pretty prolonged assault, I can't believe NOBODY nearby had a gun and was willing to try to stop this in some way. The stabbing becomes somewhat more 'tender' with eventual victim slowdown / laydown plus attacker exhaustion.... Yes, just 1 block off the strip and there's quite a contrast. If you think you've seen weird stuff ON the strip, try driving (I don't recommend walking) parallel to it. I'd venture that with such a long blade there was actually some chance (though not a big one) to get inside the swings to disarm or pin the blade away for long enough. At least MAYBE not getting killed anyway by just trying to maintain distance yet somehow not trying to just run like fuck.... Though it's also possible the victim wasn't really capable of running as fast as they'd've needed to or of credibly engaging the attacker close-in (and knew it), for physical/age/health or other reasons. Plus, many people instinctively think they can outlast or talk-out/persuade an attacker or are too shocked/out-of-element to react well at all, not really realizing they're in a mortal situation until it's too late. |

Samiritan evidently chickened out and turned into a bystander. If he was going to do anything he could have circled around and come up behind the guy and slammed his head into the ground. But I get it, knives are scary and how much do you actually want to risk for a complete stranger.
