I guess Brazil has different rules of the road: "Always start a left hand turn from the farthest right lane"...

Re: Biker Dies After Hitting a Car Turning Left
This happens everywhere all the time. Car's fault but biker's lack of awareness got him killed. If you're on a motorcycle or a bicycle, your spatial awareness has to be 10x what it is if you're in a car. "I had the right-of-way, and the car driver is at fault." Great. We'll put that on your headstone. "There's a car stopped in the right lane. Why is there a car not moving in a place where there should only be cars moving? Maybe I should slow the fuck down until I figure out what this fuckwit is doing." Great. Now you'll be home for dinner. |

Exactly. I had a similar experience back in the 80's, only I was driving a car not riding a bike. The moron tried to sue me after I broadsided her. My insurance company had a good laugh as they beat her brains out in court.
