Hard to tell from the angle. But I'm guessing he was trying to miss the car.

My guess is the car was on the right side going across to the left. The bike was speeding, impossible to tell exactly, he could have been doing 80 or 100 mph.

When the car started going across from the right, he probably aimed his direction towards the left. Because at that moment he may have been heading directly into the car. But the car continues going to the left too, so the met.

Like I said, impossible to tell. But I think he would have missed the car if he took no evasive action. This kind of accident is really common with cars and bikes. People react to where the obstacle is at the moment. And not to where the obstacle will be when you get to that spot.

Bikers have alot of bad habits. One big one is thinking it's important to let cars know you don't approve of something they did. I've seen it many times where something simular to this happens, and the biker will just hammer the throttle and buzz by the car as close as possible.

Because they know it will scare the fuck out of the driver of the vehicle having a bike fly by at high speed wide open. If the bike is loud enough people think a fucking airplane is landing on them for a split second.

I'm not saying the biker isn't at fault either. He was definitely speeding. But I watched over and over and looking at the scene picture, the car looks to be in the right lane and cuts over to the left to exit. The left lane is an exit lane and car literally slows down then goes over into the left lane. Biker was in the left lane and didn't anticipate it.

Further review and less wine: the car is in the middle lane, biker is in the left which is an exit lane when he got hit. He probably tried to avoid it last minute or was trying to overtake the car that had just slowed down in front of him who decided he wanted to turn.

he hit it so hard the fork stanchion tubes got sheared right in two leaving the upper halves still bolted into the triple clamps.
