Re: Being Shot in the Street - Syria

Except it isn't , shias are killed everyday in Pakistan and Iraq by these religious fanatics. I don't agree with or support Bashars Government but Syria will be worse off if these Salafis come to power and turn Syria into a backward state.
so your going to ignore Bashars indiscriminate bombardment of Sunni civilians forcing them to take up arms against him?

all they wanted was Democracy but now they are so brutalized that they dont mind taking help from Salafis.

as for becoming a backward state thats nonsense, Egypt has not become a backward state and nor has Libya if anything Syria under Salafi rule could be as developed as Saudi Arabia which is also a Salafi state

What did you expect?
Religion wipes out reason from the human mind, we are just witnessing this fact!
yeh religious beliefs like God promised me this land so I will kill and expel the natives from it and claim it as mine becuase the God who I dont really believe in promised it to me because I am Chosen and therefore the superior race...

Not really, whenever there's a war involving Islam or Muslims, the Salafis join that war, regardless if the opposition needed help or not. When Bahshar is removed, the secularists , and religious minorities will be targeted by these Salafis. The rebels have already declared an Islamic state in part of Syria.

Who would want their country to be a backward shithole like Saudi Arabia where they kill people for being witches?

I'm not ignoring what Bashar has done, I don't support Irans Govenrment , and I would like Bashar to pay for his crimes, but I don't view this war simply as Democratic Freedom Fighters vs Violent Dictator.

allahu akbar means "god is greater" or "god is the greatest", they shout it to make themselves feel righteous in whatever it is they happen to be doing, be it blatant murder or what have you. This is why religion is dangerous, it allows human beings to justify any action to themselves no matter how criminal or horrendous. We're nothing but a bunch of animals, the human race needs to evolve bad.

every faction on earth has done that, so what?

When Bahshar is removed, the secularists , and religious minorities will be targeted by these Salafis.
yep payback is going to be a bitch! just be sure to grab some popcorn and watch it bieng repaid in the same coin as it unfolds here at DR

Who would want their country to be a backward shithole like Saudi Arabia where they kill people for being witches?
they can do whatever the hell they want in their own backyard whats it to you? as long as the country is infrastructurally developed and modern which it is and has plenty of ridiculously highly paid jobs for foreignors on offer I couldn't careless how many witches they execute its their country, their law.

I'm not ignoring what Bashar has done, I don't support Irans Govenrment , and I would like Bashar to pay for his crimes, but I don't view this war simply as Democratic Freedom Fighters vs Violent Dictator.
then you need to understand that just because the Salafis have come to the party late it doesnt mean the entire rebellion against dictatorship is now Salafi controlled.

they are only welcome because they are willing to contribute with fighters. these Salafis know that they are aiding those who want Democracy, its clear they prefer an elected government rather than a dictatorship this is best illustrated by the fact that Salafis in Libya knew that they would have to conform to a Democratic government post Gaddafi yet despite that they contributed to his downfall.
