If they (the terrorists) have had some sort of training they would know to disorientate their victims by the way of torture, sleep deprivation and a even bigger punishment if the victim does not do as directed.

I’ve seen plenty of those videos where the person just about ready to be executed speaking to the camera with seemingly clear speech and white eyes wide open. They don’t seem drugged or disoriented so that doesn’t seem like a valid excuse, to me anyway.

I think the best explanation is just an acceptance of the reality of their situation. It's all about religion and appearances with those people (can even include cartel violence in that context also). You fucked up and been made an enemy from the wrong one, now you're caught and going to die in the same manner you've heard stories about and personally witnessed many times since childhood. That's the "real" power these people have. They're defeated by The Machine rather than whomever their particular executioner is, and that's by design. That's something I think a lot of us forget. It's not just about getting away from one person in their last moments. And if there was a time to fight or escape, it was before the blindfold got put on. |

Yep. I get it. Resolve. It’s coming and there isn’t anything you can do about. Why fight the fight you know you can’t win. Let it happen cause you know it’s coming. Without the stress of trying to get out of it you just let it happen. It’s already over before they even start cutting… just get on with it and be done. That’s gotta be one helluva thing to know that within the next few minutes your head is no longer going to be attached to your body… fucking horrible.. Thanks for the words. I get it 100%. |

Sounds like pure ignorance to me. Being (properly) beheaded, as is done in this video, is a merciful method of execution as the victim doesn’t feel much pain.
