Beggar on Utility Pole Electrocuted During President's Speech, Brazil
President Dilma Rousseff was speaking in Acaraju (SE) on Monday afternoon (14). A young man, who according to witnesses, was a beggar, appeared to be less than 30 years, climbed a power box attached to a pole in the square Valadão General, Centre. After climbing the pole the organization of the event repeatedly made calls to get down. He refused to come down. After making several moves and keep moving up in the structure, he was shocked and fell to the ground. Medical personel tried to revive him, but he died en route to hospital. The body fell in front of the Health Secretariat of the State Government. Coincidentally, the government is run by the local PT. It is not known whether it was a suicide or this had something to do with the President's speech. |
