I get and appreciate your point Steve but I think I was trying to put across that the kids were maybe punished for stealing a peasant family's only way of income. The men doing all the beatings were the "sadistic twats" and I didn't agree with what was being done.

I don't mind these kinds of punishments, but I sure hope that there's good evidence of a crime before they carry these punishments out.
