Two points here to share/inquire: a) was the previous (and quite obvious, furthermore...) bloodstain a sign of a previous, perhaps even by mere moments, altercation and the killer was wounded/winded from it, thus the curious gate seen by him? And b) always, and I mean ALWAYS, "run to" a gun, and "run away" from a blade!
