Its a brain stem function. One of the last to go. Respiratory and Heart beat are the 2 last "reflexes" to stop. If you watch an ECG when this is happening..you'll get an "Agonal ECG trace"…Its very distinctive of a dying heart. Looks like saw blades. There is no coming back from it. |
