Re: Assassination of Golden Dawn Fascists
To be honest, I don't think I would've done much better. They clearly weren't expecting to be gunned down in the street. If I remember right, someone qualified to say such things stated that "Fight or Flight" should really be called "Fight, Flight, or Freeze." When your brain kicks into that basic survival mode, some just freeze up. Poor fucker was probably completely out of it, thinking that it must have been a terrible nightmare or something. I wish it had been, people don't deserve to die because of their political beliefs, no matter what those beliefs are |

Re: Assassination of Golden Dawn Fascists
Golden Dawn is a political party often labeled as racist, neo-nazi and fascist, but its leaders always rejected these labels, but their ideals are obviously National Socialist. One should know Greece in order to understand why that party received 7% of the popular vote ( 21 seats in the parliament, third strongest party in Greece) in the Greek national elections of 2012. In some neighbourhoods with large immigrant communities, it reached 20%. And it's growing. Long story short, popular discontent is the ideal field for "right-wing extremist" or "left-wing extremist" parties, when the people have no money to afford the food because of the economic crisis, won't blame the United States housing bubble: what they'll likely do is to look around, catch an immigrant and blame him for stealing their job. It has nothing to do with politics, racism and stuff like that: Greece is possibly the least racist country where I've ever had the luck to stay, they are just unhappy and concerned. This crime could be a response to the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, an anti-fascist rapper. And no, i don't thik that they'll catch the killer: that's a pro, and this is not the first time that he kills someone, his nonchalance speaks by itself, that was a routine job for him.
