Re: Asian Shish Kebab Anyone?
Pretty sure that wasn't fully intentional there chief. The combination of the initial pain, and the amount of blood loss was probably causing this poor man to go in an out of consciousness, and was probably very delusional at this point whenever he was counscious. Those razor wires in his mind in this state, could have been his pillow on his nice comfy bed. |

Re: Asian Shish Kebab Anyone?
Wonder if he survived? The problem with this kind of trauma is removing the foreign body, in this case the pole through his abdomen. If it severed any major arteries, often the only thing preventing fatal blood loss is the presence of the foreign body which can stop further bleeding by pressing on or plugging the blood vessel. When the object is removed the vessel can then begin to bleed again and without any means to stop it the victim can then bleed to death, often within a very short period of time. The fact that he is still alive and conscious means either no major arteries were hit OR the foreign body is preventing further blood loss. Ideally you would want to cut the pole off from where it is attached to the structure and then transport the victim with the pole still in place. Once he arrives at a suitable trauma center the object can be removed in a controlled surgical environment where any further bleeding can be controlled. This is why you never want to just pull out a foreign body because it's presence may be the only thing preventing fatal blood loss. So it is possible he could survive this with proper care including treatment for possible infection with appropriate antibiotics. Of course he may also just be totally fucked either way but it would be a great case to handle from a medical standpoint. Just sayin'.
