Most of the time they catch people with honeypotting. Setting up meetings or drug deals then arresting the people who show up.

Remember when 4chan played capture the flag with Shia Labeouf? Thats the type of stuff FBI also does to catch criminals.

I 100% agree. As far as the FBI work. Ive been investigated by them for frivolous reasons (work related). I learned that they only know what you tell them. They gain digital info the same way any of us would.. stalking social media. Or if you let them search your phone/computer. Totally up to you. Or if someone else is involved, 9 times out of 10, they will make up a lie about what the other person said. But they had nothing on me. Passed their polygraph test. Lost my job all over someone else's mistake but I was the easy target. Anyways. Totally agreed on the FBI detective work. Its not that spectacular.
