Re: Arsonist Sets Himself On Fire Trying To Bomb A Bank
June 2nd, 2011 - At 2:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Luciano Pitronello Schuffeneger (aged 22), who was travelling with a passenger on a motorcycle, it was decided to install a 1 kg extinguisher filled with black powder in a branch of Santander bank located between Victoria street Vicuña Mackenna, Santiago, against the television channel “Mega”. Due to a flaw in the timing system the bomb exploded while being handled. Luciano is in a life threatening condition and has lost both eyes and both arms. When the bomb exploded, Luciano began to burn and run, being aided by a taxi driver who went out with a fire extinguisher. At this time Luciano is in the central hospital hovering between life and death, in an artificially induced coma in a critical condition and also in police custody. His companion fled the scene on the motorcycle that is being sought by police. Luciano was part of a group of squatters who suffered the raids of December 11, 2011 [1] and his name was in place 62 of the list of 182 investigated by the Bombs Case [2]. His home, where he lived with his girlfriend, was raided. We are waiting for if the police will do more searches and also about the comrade’s state of health. |
