That first volley of rounds was a little wild and could have easily taken out the customer at the back of the store. He gets a pass because he feared for his life and had 2 threats to deal with.

Hopefully, he keeps that in mind the next time.

It also looks like the perp briefly experienced life as a paraplegic before he was eliminated.
