Probably showing my age, but didn't pcp and angel dust give people a bit more battery life when severely injured or thought to be dead. I recall an American Police Officer recounting a situation where a guy was plainly dead, but managed to open his eyes, focus and fatally shoot an officer.

There's an old Police training video I watched back in the day. Dude was high on PCP, took away a female officers 38 Special and killed her with it. Then was shot 6 times by her partner including one through the head. The male officer was talking about how he could see light through the hole in the dudes head while blood rained down on his face (bad guy was on top of the male cop beating him with the female cops empty 38). The male cop finally gets his 38 Special reloaded while talking an ass whipping. He sticks the 38 into the bad guys arm pit and gives him a transthoracic round. Bad guy guys tells him, "ooooo, you got me good that time!"

Coroner's report listed COD as exsanguination...
