These arab fighters were clearly fighting serb forces. You can tell by the serbian double-headed eagle on the rifle they show off at 4:37.

You have such a good eye; the forest does look psychedelic in this old grainy VHS recording. The forest looks like the cover to a psychedelic album called Your Self Is Steam by Mercury Rev.
