Can they not hear the helicopter and at least make an attempt to scatter? If I can hear a news chopper over downtown traffic during rush hour, I am pretty sure they should be able to hear an Apache out in the middle of nowhere.

I would think they are scattering to the sound of the incoming bomb which is unmistakable sound and gets louder the closer it comes.

There's a high probability that all of the people shown died. The 4 from a direct hit the others from internal bleeding from the shockwave. (Thank you Mythbusters, lol).
